How do I refill the Mineral Toothpowder?

Using our Mineral Toothpowder (backyard compostable) refills is easy!  Simply: Tear open the MINERAL TOOTHPOWDER refill pack using the top perforation. Pour contents into the jar. Reminder: since the films & labels used are certified for home compost, you can compost the refill pack either with home composting or via municipal compost services. (certification ASTM 6400 and EIN 13432)  Don’t compost? Just put it in your regular trash. Eventually, it will break down into non-toxic, earth-friendly elements. TIP: Every once in a while, before refilling, you may want to rinse out and wipe clean your jar. Be sure to dry thoroughly before refilling.

Why do the refill packs have a metallic look? Is it compostable?

The metallic appearance of our Mineral Toothpowder Refills comes from a minute amount of metal infused into the outer film to ensure ingredients stay fresh. Yes, it is compostable. The films (and labels) in our refill packs are both fully compostable and ASTM D6400 (commercial compost) and EIN 13432 (home compost) compliant.
