How do I refill my Glass Refillable Floss Container?

Here are the steps: Unscrew the cap. Remove the separate steel cutting cap from the jar and set it aside. Find the inside (center) end of the floss on the spool and pull out a few inches.  ⚠️ Do not use the outer end of the floss — it must feed from the center. Drop the floss spool into the container with the inside center-pulled end hanging out the top. Reattach the metal cutting cap, threading the floss through the  through the small side slit (it is slightly rounded).| Do not use the opening underneath the cutter — that’s not meant for threading. Pull out a length of floss and cut using the cutter. You're ready to floss! _________________________________________________________________________________ Important Notes DO NOT feed the floss from the outside of the spool through the cutting cap. This will cause jams and prevent smooth dispensing. There are two ends to a floss spool: The outside end wraps around the outside of the roll and must remain tucked at the bottom. The inside (center) end feeds from the middle — this is the end you want to pull through the cap.

How do I refill my Stainless Steel Refillable Floss Container?

Here are the steps: Unscrew cap Pull ~3” of floss from the spool Drop spool into container Feed floss through hole in the cap Screw the cap back on & floss Important Note: use the floss end from the CENTER of the spool, not the end on the OUTSIDE. What should I do if the cap's metal cutter gets bent or flattened out?  Stainless steel is very strong. If your container gets banged up (e.g. from getting stuffed in a travel bag) there's a possibility the top flap could get bent down (it is small after all). If it’s no longer elevated enough for a clean cut, you can easily fix it. Either unscrew the top and gently push it back out using tweezers or a small metal tool, or carefully pry it upward from the top, just a tiny bit.

Floss FAQs

Q: Which floss is best for tight teeth? A: If your teeth have very tight spacing, our Infused Silk Floss is your best option. It’s thinner and designed to glide smoothly between even the closest contacts. Our Black Infused Floss is great for most people—it expands while flossing to grab more plaque—but if you have very tight teeth, it may feel too thick. If you have both tight and less tight spacing you could choose to use both versions. Simply use two dispensers — use the Infused Silk Floss spool in one, and the Infused Black Floss spool in the other. Q: Why should I floss daily? A: According to the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), flossing is the single most important weapon against plaque. By flossing your teeth daily, you increase the chances of keeping your teeth for a lifetime. Q: How do you use the refill system? Unscrew cap Pull ~3” of floss from the spool Drop spool into container  Feed floss through hole in the cap Screw the cap back on & floss Q: Why do you offer two kinds of floss? A: Our goal is to always make things “as simple as possible but no simpler”. While we initially resisted adding another kind of floss, two reasons compelled us. Reason #1:  We listened and responded — we got enough feedback from people with really tight spacing between their teeth that our Infused Black Floss was too thick for them. Akamai Infused Silk Floss is thinner while still being very strong. Reason #2: Adding Silk Floss enables us to offer a 100% plastic-free option. Combined with our Stainless Steel Container — it is about as sustainable and environmentally friendly as you can get when it comes to floss.  Both are infused with certified organic essential oils, ethical beeswax & Fulvic Acid to support oral health. Q: What if the small metal part (floss cutter) comes loose? A: Stainless steel is very strong. If your container gets banged up (e.g. from getting stuffed in a travel bag) there's a possibility the top flap could get bent down (it is small after all). If it’s no longer elevated enough for a clean cut, you can easily fix it.
