Thick, durable glass makes them difficult to break.
High-quality, non-leaching glass is resistant to chemicals. Dark amber color is created by mixing sulfur, iron, and carbon into the base glass. Plastics use pigments that can leach chemicals.
Plastic-free with metal lid.
Sealed metal lid creates a barrier that prevents contact with the product, so there’s no risk of heavy metals leaching into our clay-based formulas.
Dark amber glass jars (vs light colored) offer more UV protection than clear glass and are perfect for storing UV-sensitive items like plant-based oils.
Semi-transparent — you can see how much is inside.

Tips:

Flying? Due to changes in cabin pressure, with liquids, it's a good idea to keep these jars in a Ziploc or leak-proof bag.
You can use a label maker or permanent marker to label the contents inside. E.g. we write "MTP" (Mineral Toothpowder), "BBB" (Bioactive Black Balm), "OP" (Oil Pulling Mouthwash) on ours.

I love the refillable travel jars. Perfect size & love the wide mouth-easy for creams & powders. I have multiple sizes. plastic. I have only used glass for a long time & the amber color makes them even better! Great quality-tight lids so no worries about leakage!

Over the years I have saved many glass jars for reuse. Akamai's glass jars are just perfect for travel and storage. I used the smaller one to fill with black balm and then keep the full jar in the fridge. It works perfect for carrying it anywhere. I also love the metal lids and dark color. These are my new favorites, and I know will be in use for many years.

I am impressed by all of the Akamai products I have tried. (I especially love the black floss). But these travel jars are so very useful! Need to share some tooth powder? No problem! I now have an extra jar! Need a smaller container for travel items? Akamai can help! 2 different size jars and you can buy 4 at a time for an amazing price. So many uses! Yes, you need some!
